SwimSafer Assessments During Haze: How Cancellations Are Announced

2 min read

Swim Masters does not cancel SwimSafer assessments. Singapore Aquatics (SAQ) does, and the only official notice is an email from SAQ to the address registered in your CAMS Portal account. No WhatsApp, SMS or coach message counts as official.

Before you head to the pool

  1. Check the night before. If the 8pm 24-hour PSI exceeds 200 in any zone, SAQ cancels all assessments the next day.

  2. Check your email before travelling. Cancellations can also be sent 2–3 hours before your slot. Look in spam/junk as well.

  3. No cancellation email? Report as scheduled. Assessments may still be called off on site if conditions change.

  4. Cancelled? Follow the rescheduling instructions in the SAQ email. Do not rebook through us.

"I didn't get the email" — check these first

SAQ has told coaches that most "missing email" cases come down to one of these:

  • The assessment wasn't actually scheduled on the affected date. Confirm your date in the CAMS Portal.

  • You're checking a different email address from the one registered in CAMS.

  • The email landed in junk/spam.

  • Parent and child accounts use different addresses. SAQ sends the cancellation to both — check both inboxes.

If it's still not there after all four checks, message us with the swimmer's name and assessment date and we'll raise it with SAQ. Please run the checks first: every unnecessary enquiry slows SAQ's response for swimmers who genuinely need help.

Where to check readings

Note: SAQ's assessment trigger is the 8pm 24-hour PSI, which is separate from the PM2.5 thresholds Swim Masters uses to decide regular lessons. An assessment can be cancelled on a day lessons still run, and vice versa.
