What happens in a trial lesson
A trial is an assessment, not a sample class. The coach uses it to work out where the swimmer actually is, then tells you which class to start in.
Assessment. The coach checks water comfort, any existing swimming ability, and how quickly the swimmer picks up instructions.
Feedback. You get a plain read on where the swimmer stands on the day, including anything that needs work first.
Placement. A recommendation on the exact class, level and time slot to start in, so nobody spends weeks in the wrong group.

Why this matters if you live in an HDB flat
Most discounted and free trials in Singapore run at condominium pools, executive condominium pools or private clubs. If you want a pool you can walk to or reach on one bus from your block, look for a school that teaches at ActiveSG public complexes. Swim Masters, JustSwim and Odysseus Aquatics all teach at public complexes; aquaDucks trial venues are largely private clubs and central locations such as Dempsey and Newton.
Entry to an ActiveSG normal pool is charged separately at the gantry, from $0.50 for a child and $1.00 for an adult on weekdays for Singaporeans and PRs. Feature pools cost more.

Odysseus Aquatics is free at five named venues and $25 everywhere else. aquaDucks is $25 with a partner code, against a usual $43.60.
Can I book a trial at a public pool near my HDB flat?
Yes. Swim Masters teaches at ActiveSG public swimming complexes in Bukit Panjang, Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong West, Clementi, Queenstown, Bukit Merah and Bedok, so most estates in the west, south and east have a venue within a short bus ride.
What is the difference between the $10 trial and the $140 trial?
Two trial options are published. The $10 is a promotional trial for new students at selected locations, valid to 31 December 2026. The $140 figure on the rates page is a private trial for one or two learners with a coach to themselves. Confirm which applies at your preferred pool when you book.

No. The trial exists so you can judge the coaching before committing. There is no obligation to enrol.
What should we bring to a trial lesson?
Swimwear, goggles and a towel. Pool entry is paid separately at the ActiveSG gantry.
Are trial lessons available at condominium pools?
Yes. Swim Masters coaches travel to condominium pools as well as public complexes. Rates differ from public-pool group classes.
