Exciting Changes to the Swim Safer 2.0 Program SwimSafer

The SwimSafer program is transitioning to a centralized testing system by the second quarter of 2025. During



this interim phase, from July 1, 2024, until full implementation, there are a few important updates.

Students registering for the SwimSafer test must now complete the theory test before the practical test to receive their certificates. Coaches will provide instructions on when to take the theory test.

E-certificates will be directly accessible to students and parents via the FileSG portal, rather than through coaches or ActiveSG accounts.

  1. https://go.gov.sg/sstheory

  2. Fill in all required fields.

  3. Accept swimsafer terms of conditions and click the next button,

  4. Answer the question of the swimsafer quiz stages and click view to get results of swim safer theory quiz stage 1- 6.

  5. Remember to have a copy screenshots for future references and liaising for any swim safer certification download.

  6. If there is a need retake the test again.



  • How to Retrieve/Download Your SwimSafer E-Certificate‘

1. Candidates’ parents of SwimSafer should receive an email from FileSG

2. Congratulation on Completion of the SwimSafer Test. Copy the Transactions id(SwimSafer Test code) to be pasted on the website to retrieve SwimSafer E Certificates.


3. go to stg.file.gov.sg/retrieve?source=email and paste the earlier  Transactions id(SwimSafer Test code) And click next button.



4. Verify SwimSafer candiditate NRIC/FIN and DOB(Date of Birth) and click the Verify button.



5. verify using email address or contact numbers(SMS) two factor Authentication



6. The OTP need to be written or paste to be verified for SwimSafer certification.


7. the SwimSafer Confirmation notification will be popped up and from the file of “Alicia Yap.pdf” can be downloaded.


8. Lastly the SwimSafer certification is available for download and printed
